Jesse is out with a college friend, Ichabod forgot I am the Source of All Pets (after 10 minutes of petting I am now in the IGNORE ZONE) and i’m pooped.

Hes a weird cat. Sometimes I think he loves me the most, and other times I think he believes im just some kind of tool that pets and feeds him. Going by textbook cat definitions he loves me as much as a cat can – cuddles me when Im sad, falls asleep with his head in my hand, gives me nose-kisses and licks, runs around me like a puppy when I get home – but the other 80% of the time he ignores my existence almost entirely. I know I shouldnt let it bother me, but I would really like approval from my cat. Hes a pretty awesome dude and it would make me feel pretty ok about myself.

Ack. tired ramblings.

Worked today. Not the most fun. Apparently the kids dont get back until next week so there were fewer than 100 people on a campus that usually has thousands. Dead and creepy-quiet. Got a lot done and left early. Walked home (1.5 miles down a hill while still ON campus) and got swarmed by fly-ant-winged-things for at least 65% of it. It was terrible. There were everywhere – in my shirt, in my hair, in my purse, all over me. I would shake them off and they just kept coming back. Just terrible. Got home, showered off the bugs and washed my clothes (IN MY SHIRT AND HAIR), cuddled with the cat and read some of a magazine from May that I had yet to read. The article - Walking the Border – was quite interesting and I’m looking forward to reading the second part. Jesse brought home a steak and black bean quesadilla for me which helped me feel much better. Drinking sparkling apple juice and texting with my sister now. Quite sleepy and ready for bed already (and its only 9:15p!).

Also: paid all bills, bought a silly present, balanced my checkbook, took a walk and invested in a Chocolove Toffee & Almonds in Milk Chocolate bar. Ha-cha!

Day: B-/C+ (bugs and a day of boredom aren’t my favorites)

had a Muffinator and a Santa Fe Salad from Saturn Cafe (for lunch and then dinner)

cleaned the cat box

put no-flea drops on the cat

scolded the cat for trying to like the no-flea drops

dropped a pyrex on my (already doubly bruised) foot

had a beer

ate a chocolate square

figured out what I am going to wear to work tomorrow (booo)

re-set my work-time alarms (booo)

gotten in bed

I hope you guys dont get annoyed at my face all the time (SHUT UP IM LOVELY)

Day: solid B (due to laziness)

Last day of vacation and Im starting it right. Still in bed at 1:30p. Go me! Off to run an errand soon, and get some breakfast/lunch because g-d-it im hungry and we havent gone grocery shopping in way too long.

• Devil Makes Three at the Catalyst with Jesse, J&E, KT, Catherine, Bailey, Tim, (drunk) Marianna & co, Merle and Fiance, etc.
• Home at 2:30a. Toast with eggs and champagne. Bed at 3:45a.
• Jesse woke up drunk. Jesse went back to sleep.
• Pilot light on the water heater on the shower would not light. Took very cold shower.
• Went with J&E to Mastrangelo’s parents house for New Years Day brunch-that-lasts-all-day. Lots of great food and even better people (Matt & Aubrey, Val & Charles, Evan & Erin, Meredith, Alan, Thane, etc.).
• Watch a lot of football and Twilight Zone.
• Home by 7:30p and in bed immediately.
• Very tired but very happy.

Day: A+

What do YOU want for the Holiday?

I am thankful for my Dad, one of my greatest friends and a man who tries to understand me even if he doesn’t always succeed.

I am thankful for my sister – clever, thoughtful, talented and sweet. She is one of the greatest things in my life.

For my love – the kindest and most loving man I have ever met. He is such a good person and I am so thankful to have him in my life.

I am thankful for my dumb cat who loves me an puts up with my sass on a daily basis, and still comes running when I call and purrs at me.
